Hill Hemakunta (Hemakuta), located south of the Virupaksha temple and clearly visible from the Hampi Bazaar, preserved remnants of early Jain temples and a monolithic sculpture of Narasimha (Narasimha), a form of Lord Vishnu in the way of Chennai to Valliyur. At 2 km. to the east of Hampi Bazaar is located Vittal temple or Vitthala, built in the 16 th century and is one of the best examples of architectural art masters Vijayanagara Empire. They say that the external columns of the temple produce music when cut, so they are also known as musical pillars. The interior of the temple complex is well preserved, you can see the friezes, with figures of animals and warriors, and in between sculptures desyatiavatarov Vishnu.
