DVD Publisher or Printer and Duplicator?
June 10, 2008 7:19 am TechnologyPeople looking at burning and printing DVDs will come to the point where they have to choose between a DVD publisher (all in one DVD Printer and duplicator) and a separate DVD printer and duplicator. The advantages of the publisher unit is that the process of printing and burning multiple DVDs does not require any real manual intervention as the disc will automatically transfer from burning to printing. The main disadvantage with these units is the time they take. Burning generally takes far longer than printing so often the printer section of the publisher is sat idol while waiting for the burner. Most of these units also only have one burner so producing a lot of discs takes ages. If you opt for a separate duplicator and printer you can use a duplicator with multiple drives to burn around 10 discs at once and also have your DVD printer constantly printing. This is of course much quicker but labour intensive, as you have to move the discs from duplicator to printer.
