For a person who is not academically inclined there are many great career courses that can lead to rewarding and well paying careers. This was the subject of the conversation that I had with my son recently. He is not overly enthralled about the idea of going to college. His academic record is not the most impressive but he excels in creative subjects that involve the use of his hands. I have suggested that we examine some of the local options for a trade based career. Trade and technical schools have many courses that would be perfect for his situation. The other benefit of these courses is that you can often find someone who will sponsor you with an apprenticeship.
