Journeyman Electrician
May 13, 2008 4:10 pm MiscellaneousElectricians that get their licenses are considered to be journeyman electricians. A Journeyman Electrician will have the competencies needed to work as a n electrician in the jurisdictions where their licenses are accepted. A journeyman electrician will of course have relatively little experience compared to a master electrician. However, they may work by themselves and command competitive wages typically double that of an apprentice electrician. In most states, an ID is given after examinations are passed, allowing the journeyman electrician to be able to prove that they are certified to work on electrical systems in the state. These of course, have to be renewed ever so often.
