I use many types of solar lights in my landscaping of my home. A couple of the types I use are the plastic base with the plastic tops and the other is a more ornate brass base and top. I use them in the front of my home to light the pathway up the walk. I also use them as spot lights to highlight garden statues or plants. I have found the battery life of Solar Lights will last several years but I do advise to remove the batteries yearly and clean out any matter that might collect between the terminals. This will help with battery life and also to the battery charges fully to give you the brightest light possible.
