Although it is not a common issue, different taps work well with different water pressure. This is especially evident with taps being used on a low pressure system, such as gravity fed water systems. If purchasing designer taps, especially those designed on continental Europe you may have a problem. These taps are designed for use with the European high pressure systems and do not work well with low pressure water. It may be necessary to work out your water pressure as you could be purchasing something that is not going to work in your bathroom.  With modern combi-boilers and un-vented hot water systems this is not a problem as both systems can work well with high pressure and low pressure taps.
