I live in a small rural village. My neighbors and I used to retrieve our mail from the local post office. It was a small shed situated between the church and the ball field. We got word that the post office would be closing. We would now get our mail from the post office in the next town over. Many of us thought it was too far to drive,a nd we decided to erect posts and receive our mail from the mail route driver. Several of us went shopping together. I had fun shopping for mailboxes. We all chose boxes that were different. Very few chose traditional metal boxes. Some picked out plastic boxes. Others chose wooden boxes. Mine looks like a small house. My next door neighbors’ is a fish, and the mail is inserted into its mouth.
