I mention he has sciatica and the first question is, “what is sciatica?” I then have to explain that it is a compression of the sciatic nerve which in the main nerve in your leg. Once I mention that he has a herniated disc in his back they understand. Most people know what a herniated disc is but they don’t realize that it can cause problems in more areas than just the back. My husband is often doubled over from the pain and I feel bad for him.
