I have always been a voracious reader — but one of the problems in doing a lot of reading is that print books are very expensive. It is not uncommon to pay $10 or more even for a paperback book — and if you buy a lot of books, the cost can really add up quickly. Public libraries aren’t much help in this regard, as most of them don’t stock current books. I found a great alternative, however, in audio book downloads. Now I simply hook up my computer and download all of my favorite authors. It’s quick and easy — and one of the additional bonuses is that often times these book downloads are cheaper than the print version of the same book. This means that, for the same amount of money every month that I budget to buy books, I can now get more audio editions than I could ever purchase for the printed ones.

I have recently come into possession of a few old pocket watches. They are working and in very good condition. I know they are worth a little money, but I’m not quite sure how much. Where should I try to sell these, and how much should I try to get for them? Should I take them to a jeweler to have them evaluated? Or would it make sense to just sell them at one of the online auction sites? I don’t want to sell them for too little. I know that these have begun to be a collectible item, so I am assuming it shouldn’t be too hard to sell them.

Little kids usually all want to be the same few things “when they grow up”. Boys want to be firemen, policemen, astronauts, and super heroes. Girls want to be princesses, ballerinas, and maybe Wonder Woman. Acting is another career choice most kids like to dream about. They want to be rich and famous like movie stars. I was an oddball, for a while I wanted to be a janitor, which is a very strange choice for a girl in elementary school! Right now my daughter says she wants to be a doctor and an astronaut, and who knows, maybe she will be.

I wanted to get a tattoo, but I found out that I have a blood disorder that prevents me from being able to get one. My blood does not clot properly. Getting a tattoo could mean bleeding to death, so it’s a chance I do not want to take. I gave my tattoo design, that I had drawn myself, to the tattoo artist. I thought someone else may want to get the tattoo that I was unable to get myself. Someone did see it. She got the tattoo that I had dreamed of. She asked if the artist had any more of my work. He contacted me and asked if I would consider working with him, drawing designs. I took him up on the offer, and I have been working with him ever since. I just drew a cute tattoo design for women. So far, he had three appointments scheduled to get that tattoo.

What is it about little girls and ballet? For some reason it seems that when little girls first start talking about a particular type of dancing (beyond the toddler stage where they just bounce and jump around to music and call it dancing), they talk about ballet. My three year old will be playing a pretend game and tell me she is dancing ballet. And when you read about girls taking dance lessons in books, they are always taking ballet class! With all the other types of dance around, somehow little girls always choose ballet to dream about. Maybe it is the pink tutus?

More and more teenage girls are going crazy with the dancing bug.  With movies and television shows that pertain to dancing, who can blame them?  If your daughter is one of these dance fanatics who now has you signing her up for dance lessons, make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into!  One of the most important aspects of a career in dancing are the outfits.  It is not always easy to find teen dancewear, however.  In fact, most people are shopping outside of the industry so that they can find the latest in teen fashions.  Everyone wants to be noticed; everyone wants something unique that the other person doesn’t already have.  It’s like showing up to your high school prom with the same dress as your best friend because you both shopped at the same store.  Some things to consider when shopping for your daughter’s outfit are the price, availability and fit of the outfit.  These things will make all the difference!

Pastel painting is enjoying a renaissance in artistic and public popularity after a long period of neglect. A pastel painting is created when pastel completely covers the surface and when not all the surface is covered, it is referred to as a pastel sketch. When a pastel painting is framed under glass, it is the most permanent of all mediums, as it has no liquid binder which may cause darkening, fading or cracking with time, as can be the case with some mediums. Pastel paintings are of one of my favorite places to go immerse myself in the splendor of autumn.
