Company culture is deemed to be critically important to some organizations. A classic example of this is the ongoing debate on the proposed merger between Yahoo and Microsoft. Some claim that the two organizations have different operating structures, standards and culture that are incompatible. Whilst it is easy to envision a perfect world where people adapt this does not always happen in the real world. Organizational change and resistance is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. If the two companies do eventually merge there will be a great deal of consultation necessary to integrate the workers from each company.
