My sister just moved to New York and she took her car with her.  She told me that car insurance NY is no more expensive there that it is anywhere else which really surprised me.  She doesn’t do a lot of driving, but when she does she needs a car right away and she drives long distances.  I know a lot of people who live in New York do not have their own car, and rely on taxicabs and public transportation for everything.  I drove once in New York and it was scary, but I guess it’s just something that you get used two after you have lived there for awhile.
