When moving across a great distance I always recommend getting a one way truck rental. When I moved a while back my vehicle was too small to carry large furniture, so I rented a 17 foot truck one way. I was a little apprehensive because I have never driver a vehicle that large, but after a few miles I got the hang of it. The rental company provided a dolly and a ramp to load my furniture. I also found the rates to be reasonable, and the staff was very friendly. If I have to do it again I would definitely rent a truck one way and move the furniture myself rather than go through the expense of hire a moving company.
